The HBO hackers’ incursion into the data territory of the US-based television network has taken another drastic turn. The fact that there are multiple hackers breaching into the channel’s security and leaking consequential information is leading to new hacks everyday. The original hackers, who call themselves the ‘Mr. Smith group’ had released 1.5 terabytes of information including scripts and other crucial information about the employees. The same group has now threatened to release the finale of Game Of Thrones Season 7, as per www.metro.co.uk.

The channel has so far refused to participate in any exchange with the hackers, as they continue their onslaught, one hack at a time. The original hackers had also demanded $6.5 million as ransom for the stolen data, in an ultimatum to HBO President and CEO Richard Plepler. HBO had confirmed the hack and the demands for ransom, as well.

Recently, OurMine, another group of hackers had managed to gain control of the company’s social media accounts. The group went on to post a message on both Twitter and Facebook, which read, “Hi OurMine here, we are just testing your security, HBO team please contact us to upgrade the security – ourmine.org -> Contact.”

The hacking row is not the only thing that is giving the channel’s executives sleepless nights. Recently, HBO Spain had mistakenly aired an episode a week before its scheduled telecast. Now what remains to be seen is how the producers manage to minimise the damage.

Game of Thrones is arguably the biggest show on TV with the explosive episode 6 set to air tonight in the UK ahead of episode 7, next week’s big finale.

The HBO show has topped the list of most illegally downloaded shows on annual torrent and online stream charts since 2012.

Two of the show’s biggest episodes, episode 4 The Spoils of War and episode 6 Beyond the Wall (previously thought to be called Death is the Enemy), were leaked ahead of their broadcast date.

After tonight there is only one more episode left of Game of Thrones season 7, and HBO will be bracing themselves for more potential leaks.

The hackers have recently released several unaired episodes of HBO shows.

And they have now threatened to release Game of Thrones season 7 episode 7 – this season’s big finale – ahead of its broadcast date.

Game of Thrones S7 ep07 will be shown first in the US on Sunday August 27, and will be simulcast in the UK at 2am on Monday.

Mashable reported that a group claiming to be the HBO hackers contacted them and handed them login details to ALL of the network’s social media channels.

In an e-mail sent over the weekend, they added: “Be ready for GOT S7 E6 & E7 as soon as possible.”

The threat from the hackers was sent ahead of the Game of Thrones season 7 episode 6 original airing date.

The penultimate episode of Game of Thrones season 7 – entitled Beyond the Wall – will be shown on Sky Atlantic in the UK at 9pm tonight.

While the hackers threatened to release the episode, previously thought to be called Death is the Enemy, they had no need to.

Last Wednesday Game of Thrones season 7 suffered a devastating leak, but not at the hands of hackers.

Episode 6 of the hit show was broadcast FOUR days before it was officially meant to be released.

It was available for more than an hour on HBO’s on-demand service in Spain.

S7 ep06 was eventually pulled down, but it was up for enough time for people to rip the episode and publish it online.
